The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts has presented one of the most significant collections of European modernist art, covering the most important artistic movements of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The project showcased the history of the formation of Sergei Shchukin’s collection through his personality, family biography, and cultural-historical context. The exhibition’s task was to present one of the largest world collections as fully as possible. The collection, which was divided between Moscow and St. Petersburg museums in 1948, was reunited at the exhibition at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, which will be the brightest event for Russian culture.
